About us
CAPD was founded as a result of a personal experience of living and working in Bucaramanga, Colombia. At that time, a community organization called FANDIC (friends of children with disability for their inclusion into the community) was established to address the needs of children with disability and their families. Noting the paucity of local information resources and support for newly founded entities, CAPD was established to support community-based organizations and to promote health and education in Colombia.

How we Work
CAPD encourages participatory community development by working through Colombian non-profit organizations that are community based, serve vulnerable people of low socio-economic status, and are motivated by the desire to improve the quality of life of their fellow citizens.
CAPD establishes long-term relationships with our Colombian partners by engaging with them in an attitude of friendship, mutal respect and reciprocal learning, and helping them to build organizational capacity and strength through a process of accompaniment.
CAPD Calgary is volunteer based and has low administrative expenses.
